Ezia Caputo Sales Manager Bell Italia
In today’s article we interview Ezia Caputo, sales manager of Bell Italia, who, a little over a year after joining the company, tells us about her work experience.
Bell Italia is increasingly top notch. This is proved by the turnover, in constant growth in the last years; it is proved by the customers, that is wholesalers and retailers from all over the world looking for ‘made in Italy’ products, and with whom we are strengthening, day by day a bond based on trust and collaboration. But behind the numbers, the projects, the initiatives, behind every new “pin” placed on the globe to indicate the countries we serve, there is the work of a prepared, competent, united team. A few weeks ago we Interviewed Gianvito Di Palma, CEO of Bell Italia, who had analysed the excellent results achieved in almost ten years of activity and outlined future objectives: many ideas and projects aimed at making Bell Italia much more than a wholesaler of consumer goods, but an authentic showcase for Italy for wholesalers and retailers from all over the world.
“The constant attention to our partners is the real engine of Bell Italia”, declared Di Palma, “because being competitive in our sector is important, but it is even more important to offer the customer an impeccable service, with the guarantee of ordering goods that are thousands of miles away and receive them in perfect state, with all the necessary certifications, without a single damaged carton or any missing piece ». To achieve this goal, teamwork is fundamental; and Bell Italia’s team is characterised by top skills and synergy. Meet Ezia Caputo, sales manager of Bell Italia. Thirty-four years, speaking 4 foreign languages, lion-like hair and grit, in spite of a seemingly shy, but always cheerful and smiling face.
A: The balance is absolutely positive. Little more than a year has passed, but when time flies and you don’t even notice it, it means that time is well spent. I was lucky enough to meet a team that welcomed me with enthusiasm from day one, supporting me every day so that I could best learn this job. The willingness to help and the smile of my colleagues have been the extra gear to do my best, quickly acquiring new skills in a sector I didn’t know.
R: I take care of the commercial side of the business, I am in charge in particular of the new customers. Usually they contact us through the website www.bell-italia.com or through the LinkedIn business account. They are traders from all parts of the world, interested in Italian consumer products. My job is to answer their questions, provide quotes and product information, check the availability of certifications for customs procedures, optimize loads and ensur an efficient and complete post-sales support.
R: My fondest memory is undoubtedly… the first order I received! A wholesaler from a northern European country, with whom I had been in contact for several weeks and to whom I had sent dozens of quotes, photos, product data sheets, told me that in the past he had had some non-positive experience with other Italian suppliers; “in Italy I often found good prices”, he said, “but a lack of support, especially after the purchase, so I am skeptical”. I managed to convince him ta make a small order to test us.
I was sure he would be satisfied. Since then, not only has he started to purchase from us regularly, but we developed a relationship of mutual respect and friendship, which fills me with enthusiasm and satisfaction. In addition to this, I have many beautiful memories because everyday I’ve spent at Bell Italia taught me something, allowed me to grow professionally and to become more and more self-confident, in my job as well as in my everyday life.
R: To me, Bell Italia is family, even before being the company I work for. A place where I have felt at ease since the very first day, with many beautiful people united by the desire to grow together and to make Bell Italia the largest exporter of Italian products in the world. An ideal environment where you can learn and improve yourself everyday, also learning from your mistakes; it is the company everybody would like to be part of, because it really makes you fall in love with your job.
R: Yes, and it’s a contagious enthusiasm! An enthusiasm I perceive in the company, and which, in turn, I feel I convey to all my interlocutors: co-workers, suppliers, transporters, customers, staff.
A: I am very optimistic about the future: I see myself as a coordinator of brilliant and motivated salesmen, each of them responsible of a single geographical area. I imagine myself more self-confident and prepared, ready to make my skills available to my younger colleagues; and, at the same time, willing to improve and learn further! tAll this in a Bell Italia that is becoming more and more a leader in its sector, boasting several offices in Italy and in various parts of the world, but still keeping the same mentality we have today: because what really matters are values, both in work and in life, much more than numbers.
