Divella: the story of the Puglian pasta factory

Between 1910 and 1920, pasta production began in a small artisanal factory, as pasta and other necessities were still being made at home. In the 1920s, Francesco Divella and the second generation began taking over the management of the company and built a new durum wheat mill in the town of Noicattaro, just a few kilometers from Bari.

Despite the dark years of the war and the resulting rationing of flour and pasta consumption, the Divella pasta factory in Rutigliano began to register the first increases in production. The first significant increase in pasta production coincided with a historical change in consumer habits starting in the late 1960s, when there was a gradual development of pasta production, culminating in the boom of the 1970s. During this period, the third generation joined the second and definitively took the reins of the company in the 1980s.

Day after day, the commitment and daily dedication of many people paid off, transforming the company, now in its fourth generation, into a solid reality that faces daily challenges in the Italian and foreign markets. The constant and exponential growth is the result of the work of over 320 direct collaborators and the hard work of many people.

A decisive period for the growth of Divella was January 1989, when the new factory was inaugurated on the road that connects Rutigliano to Adelfia. In the following years, the same plant was repeatedly expanded with the addition of new production lines, up to the present day and the fourth generation.
